Today I am sharing two patterns for bookmarks. I learned how to tat Cluny leaves a couple months ago, and wanted to make something simple using the technique. As a side note, it does take some practice to get even tension.

Cluny Leaf Bookmark One

MATERIALS

2 shuttles

Lizbeth thread, size 20

INSTRUCTIONS

R 3—3—3—3—3—3, Cluny <12><12><12><12>, SLJ (to space of first Cluny leaf), Ch 3+ (to last p of last R) 3—3—3. *R 3+ (to last Ch p) 3—3—3—3—3, Cluny <12> + (to space of last two Cluny leaves) <12><12><12>, SLJ, Ch 3+3—3—3.* Repeat * * to desired length.

Corner: R 3+ 3—3—3—3—3, Cluny <12> + <12><12><12>, SLJ, Ch 3+3—3—3—3—3, R 3—3—3+ (to space of two Cluny leaves) 3—3—3, Ch 3—3—3—3—3—3+ (to space of corresponding two Cluny leaves).

Continue: *R 3+3—3—3—3—3, Ch 3+3—3—3+.* Repeat * * to the corner.
